Biography
Not only electrifying onstage, but best friends offstage...
Hailing from Southern Ontario, Mirrored Percussion (established 2023) is a GTA-based Duo co-founded by Madison Keats and Cassandra Wolff. Mirrored is a new emerging duo that largely focuses on accessibility and inclusion in their performances, working to create programs that are captivating to many audiences. They strive to put on concerts that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and musical backgrounds, and to host a welcome space for all to enjoy their music. They also strive to encourage young girls to succeed in male-dominated fields.
Madison and Cassandra first met at Wilfrid Laurier University, which they both attended for their undergraduate degree. As two young women passionate about music performance, they began exploring their creativity and versatility, with both of their interests spanning from classical to contemporary genres. The repertoire that Mirrored performs is expansive, ranging across their aesthetics and abilities. They are performers of new music, and are collaborating with composers on new projects.

Cassandra Wolff
Cassandra Wolff is a freelance percussionist from St. Catharines, Ontario. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Performance and a Chamber Music Diploma from Wilfrid Laurier University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Performance from the University of Toronto. She studied under the tutelage of Aiyun Huang, Beverley Johnston, Charles Settle, Ryan Scott, Brennan Connolly, and Dave Campion. As a musical artist, Cassandra enjoys many different styles of music from - classical to modern - and continues to expand her interests to a wider variety of genres. As an orchestral percussionist, Cassandra has performed with the Niagara Symphony and the Victoria Symphony, and she has played with many community orchestras across the Kitchener-Waterloo and the Greater Toronto areas. Cassandra also toured Canada in both 2023 and 2024 as a member of the National Youth Orchestra. As a contemporary artist, Cassandra has performed with the New Music Ensemble at the Glenn Gould School, and in 2022, she won the NUMUS Emerging Improvisers Competition; she improvised alongside Ben Grossman and Kathryn Patricia Cobbler in their Double Bill show. When she’s out of the practice rooms or not performing, Cassandra can be found reading a good book or drinking a good hot chocolate.

Madison Keats
Madison Keats is a percussionist from Ontario, Canada who describes her interest in music beginning with a feeling of finally fitting in and strives to ensure she conveys that feeling to everyone she meets. Madison holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance with a minor in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Advanced Certificate in Performance at the University of Toronto. As an orchestral percussionist, Madison has played with the Rose Orchestra, Huronia Orchestra, the Stratford Symphony Orchestra and the Guelph Symphony Orchestra among others. Madison has also performed in the pit orchestras for Wilfrid Laurier University in their productions of both “Little Women” and “Into the Woods” as well as at the University of Toronto for their production of their “Three Islands” opera. To further her development, Madison has attended many clinics and seminars including the TORQ Percussion Seminar, the Montreal Percussion Workshop, and the Sandbox Percussion Seminar. Music has also brought Madison overseas when she participated in the World Youth Wind Orchestra for the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles in both 2022 (Prague, Czech Republic) and 2024 (Gwangju, South Korea). Madison’s love of chamber music has not led her only towards Mirrored Percussion, but also towards performances in chamber settings with Open Ears Music Festival and NUMUS’s “TRUTH” concert. Collaborating and meeting other musicians is one of Madison’s favourite parts of being a musician. “I believe music is truly not meant to be enjoyed only in a void, but surrounded by community” (Madison) Madison also holds an affinity for mentoring the next generation of musicians. Madison has delivered workshops and lead sectionals for various organizations such as Bandology, the Oscar Peterson School of Music March Break Camp, the Awesome Music Project, Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Concert Band, and Interprovincial Music Camp. In the future Madison is interested in studying the intersection between music and athletics, but for now you can find Madison at the gym, on a walk, or enjoying some yummy food when she isn’t hard at work in a practice room!
